Our Staff



We maintain national accreditation as well as a 5 star rating from Step Up To Quality because all of our quality staff. Many of our teachers are currently pursuing higher degrees in Early Childhood Education. Two of our staff teach early childhood education classes at local colleges. All of our staff hold certifications in child abuse recognition and prevention, CPR, First Aid, and Communicable Disease Recognition. Our entire staff belongs to The Cleveland Reggio Study Group.



Ms. Julie



Lead Teacher




Ms. Julie joined Parma Preschool in 2012.

She has a

Bachelor Degree in Communication for University of Toledo and is currently pursing a Graduate Certificate in Reggio Emilia Studies.

She loves going to concerts and taking trips with her family.

In the classroom you will find her singing and dancing with the children! She also enjoys planning field trips and classroom events!

Ms. Jackie



Co-Director, Lead Teacher




Ms. Jackie began at Parma Preschool in 2002. She has a Masters in Early Childhood Education. She is also pursing a Graduate Certificate in Reggio Emilia Studies.

She is the co-director, a lead teacher, and the gymnastics instructor.

Ms. Jackie really enjoys doing messy activities in the classroom! Experiments are her favorite. At home, she likes to do photography.




Mrs. Surniak



Owner, Director, Lead Teacher




Mrs. Surniak took over as director in 1998. Kim has a Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education and is pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Reggio Emilia Studies.

In her spare time, Mrs. Surniak enjoys reading and spending time with family. Her favorite thing to do in the classroom is read stories with the children.




Mrs. Najpaver



Teacher



Ms. Ashley began working at Parma Preschool in 2016.

She has an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Early Childhood Education and plans to pursue a higher degree in the future.

She likes to build puzzles and be outside in nature. One of her favorite places to visit is the nature reservations.

In the classroom, Ms. Ashley really enjoys doing investigations and exploring outside with children.

Ms. Maria



Teacher




Ms. Maria began teaching at Parma Preschool in 2015. She is currently completing the Early Childhood Education program at Cuyahoga Community College. Ms. Maria is also a certified Kids Yoga Instructor.

In her spare time Ms. Maria loves to spend time in Cleveland. She is a foodie and knows all the good restaurants.

In the classroom Ms. Maria really enjoys reading books and any open ended art!​



Mr. John



Teacher



Mr. John began working with us in 2006. Besides being a classroom teacher he is also our school artist.

He has an Associate Degree in Visual Communication and an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Early Childhood Education. He is also pursing a higher degree.

Mr. John loves to garden and cook homemade Italian food.

In the classroom he enjoys building and listening to records with the kids.

Ms. Gail joined our staff in 2017.

She has a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and a Doctorate in Urban Studies with a Specialization in Learning & Development.

She loves to travel and read… especially on a beach!

In the classroom her favorite things to do is make a mess in the art area or conduct science experiments.




Miss Lindsey



Teacher





Miss Lindsey started working at Parma Preschool in 2021. She has her Associates of Applied Science in Early Childhood Education and is pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree at Cleveland State University. In the classroom Miss Lindsey loves to be creative and read books with the children. She also loves to make up songs throughout the day!


Miss Lindsey loves supporting Cleveland sports, especially the Browns, going to concerts, and spending time with her family and friends!
